THOMAS
CLARDY

Wrongfully convicted. Freed after 17 years.
Now, his freedom is in jeopardy.

An innocent man.

“I will continue to fight to prove my innocence.”

In 2023, after serving 17 long years in prison, a federal Judge overturned and vacated Thomas Clardy’s conviction. Thomas spent almost two decades in prison for a crime he did not commit and he was free. Or was he? The State of Tennessee appealed the federal district court’s decision. Meanwhile, for 19 months, Thomas followed the rules and requirements of his release. He reconnected with loved ones and formed new relationships. He was finally living the life that had been taken from him.

Unfortunately, in January 2025, the Sixth Circuit reversed the lower court decision, which effectively reinstated Thomas’s conviction, and Thomas is now facing the possibility of a return behind bars while he awaits the outcome of additional litigation and appeal in federal court.

He spent 17 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. A federal judge overturned that conviction. And now his freedom is in jeopardy.

It’s time to grant Thomas clemency. It’s time for freedom.

Justice for Thomas Clardy.
